AD | The perfect non alcoholic night in with Caleño

Now when I was offered the opportunity to try Caleño, I just couldn't pass on the opportunity. Now don't get me wrong I love a bit of alcohol every now and then, but most of the time I'm happy with just a plain old soft drink. But Caleño truly is the perfect answer to jazzing up your non alcoholic Friday night drink.

Now what is Caleño you're probably thinking? Well it's described as a non alcoholic free spirit with notes of Juniper and Inca berry... and spoiler alert, you'll love it. But if you want the full fancy description here it is:

"Caleño's Juniper and Inca Berry is a tropical infusion of juniper, citrus and spice botanicals, steam distilled in stainless steel drums. Beating at its heart is the golden South American Inca berry; Sweet, yet tangy, with pineapple, Mango and citrus fruit flavours. Founded by Ellie inspired by the energetic culture of her Columbian heartland."

When I was sent over this little package it included everything you'd need for the perfect Caleño cocktail night:

  • Tote bag
  • Gold stirrer
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Bar blade
  • 200m Caleño bottle
  • Tonic water
  • Cocktail menu

The first thing I definitely noticed was the branding. I'm the kind of person that will buy something that I don't really need, but will simply buy it because it's aesthetically pleasing. And this collection is definitely that. The tote bag, the bar blade and bottle are created with such attention to detail and to a really lovely quality finish. They've really hit the nail on the head with really showing off those Colombian vibes, and I am quite honestly obsessed.

Before I go into detail I just wanted to quickly mention where you can grab this for yourselves. It comes in at £24 per bottle (70cl) and you can find it here directly on the Caleño website, and you'll find it stocked on Amazon, or at your local Sainsbury's.

Second of all the taste, now I won't be able to convince you fully until you try it for yourselves, but if you are looking for a little substitute for alcohol then this is the one. Sugar free, Sweetener free and no artificial flavours. It has a really beautiful light taste, and will definitely get you hooked on wanting more.

There are many cocktails that you can create with this spirit, including those within the Caleño cocktail menu, but the classic Caleño & Tonic is as simple as it sounds. Fill your glass with plenty of ice, add a double shot of Caleño, add 20ml of tonic water and if you're feeling extra fancy garnish with an Inca berry. And there you go, a really simple friday night drink, or a week day of course who cares when its alcohol free!

Average girl tries 'Filter' by Mollie Mae

Okay, Okay I know I'm behind with reviewing this product. But fake tan is something I'm quite new too and I wanted to make sure I was getting it right before I wrote about it, but here it is. It's been well tested and I'm ready to spill the tea and share my thoughts on it.

When I first saw Mollie Mae announce that she was working on something exciting, I had my suspicions that it would be a fake tan so when it officially launched it went straight in my basket. So let’s talk about the basics first such as the price, packaging and what’s on offer. Being quite a pale ghostly individual, I was a little intimidated by the fact that the only two shades available were Dark and Extra dark, I thought it was quite a risky move and that she may be missing out catering for the paler of us population. But I have to say as soon as I tried it, I soon found that this tan is so adaptable and you're really able to control or light or dark you want it to go!

The price for the tan by itself is £19.99 which I think is a reasonable price for the 250ml bottle especially when you compare it to brands such as Bondi sands (£17.99 200ml bottle) and the St Tropez (£30.50 240ml bottle). As part of the collection several pieces have been released including the Dark/extra dark tanning mousse £19.99, mini velvet mitt £6.99, large velvet mitt £9.99 and some bundle packages ranging from £31-£38. All in all, I think the collection is priced really well, it’s a perfect go to if you're looking for great quality products without breaking the bank.

So I went for the Dark tanning Mousse, and may I just say the packaging is BEAUTIFUL! It comes in a gorgeous nude coloured tube with a gold rim around the top, and the branding as a whole is just so minimalistic which I love! In terms of application it’s pretty straight forward, you simply have to shake the bottle for a minute or two to activate the tan into a gorgeous mousse. And simply apply!

What I love about this tan is that it has a guide colour which makes it so much easier to see where you've applied, and the places you may have missed and it gives you an idea of what the colour is going to turn out like. which gives you just that little bit extra control over how dark you may want it to go. It develops between 4 to 10 hours but with the guide colour you do notice a difference straight away.

In terms of transferring onto your clothes, I tend to just leave my tan to dry for around 5 minutes and getting into my comfy’s as I always apply it to sit overnight and so far I've had no issues with it transferring which is something I've struggled with previously whilst using other tans. And finally, how long does the tan last before giving your skin a tiger loaf like appearance? One thing I was really impressed with is how long it lasts. you can get away with around 5 days of it looking completely natural and fresh before it starts turning into tiger loaf which I think is a great amount of time.

It's fair to say that I'm super impressed with this tan, and I can't see myself switching to anything else anytime soon and I'm so excited to see what else Molly Mae has up her sleeve!

Have you tried the Mollie Mae tan? What are your thoughts?

Planning your life with CGD London

*Post contains gifted ad for the purpose of review, all thoughts and opinions are my own*

Working full time whilst attempting to run a blog, an Instagram, a photography business whilst also trying to keep on top of a social life is a tricky old thing. Everything moves at such a fast pace, as if you blink and you'll miss it. With technology ruling the way we think and run our lives, its nice to go back to the old fashioned way of pen and paper.

Now considering I'm a full-time social media co-ordinator, I love a new notebook, a mind map and a good list or two to help me smash my targets. This is what I love about the CGD London goals Diary, a beautiful June 2019 to December 2020 diary designed to keep you on track with reaching your goals. And trust me, your girl has a hell of a lot of goals to fulfill.

Next year I have more goals than ever, goals to be happy, goals to be productive and goals to get myself where I want to be. Starting with my fitness journey. Along with joining a weekly fitness group, I have joined the gym. And there's no better way to keep you on track than a diary, here I can note down my goals, what I'll do to achieve them and when I'm hitting them. There's no need to rely on battery power, just one book that contains everything you need that will always be with you on the go.

Not only does this little diary have a monthly calendar, but its also filled with plenty of little weekly goal and to do sections which is definitely one of my favourite parts! It also includes pages of space for notes and addresses. To note down phone numbers, important need to know info and my healthy recipes! There's just something about organising my life in a diary that truly makes me feel like I've got my sh*t together, and I absolutely love it!

The need to know information
This beautiful diary comes in at £28 and can offer you monthly, weekly and daily overviews for your goals and to do lists. Its made of a vegan friendly black leather front and back which really adds a high quality to finish. Most importantly, you can purchase your very own from here using my discount code 'REBECA15' And I couldn't recommend that you buy this enough!

Happy planning!

Summer beauty must haves | Gifted

*All the below products have been kindly gifted for the purpose of review*

Norvell Tannin spray - £35.99
Ahh to be tanned, wouldn’t it be lovely? Now I’m the kind of person that will shoot off on a holiday and return the same colour, despite all my effort to sunbathe as much as I can. (When I say as much I can I mean, for as long as my patience will last) I’m just not the kind of person that can lay in the sun for hours on end and find it relaxing, I become a hot sweaty mess and quite frankly I get pretty bored.

That’s why I decided its time to turn to the fake tan, now I’m not insecure in my paleness but its always nice to jazz it up a little in the sunnier weeks and always interesting to experiment with some new make up colours and tones. I was kindly gifted the Norvell tanning spray from Alex Silver PR and its safe to say that I have found a new staple piece to add to my beauty collection.

So, first thoughts on the crucial eye-catching packaging, it definitely screams luxury as its gorgeous purple and black bottle is an aesthetically pleasing piece to look at. It’s the perfect size, enough product to enable a good few applications but small enough to just chuck in your bag for travel.
In terms of the application itself, similar to most fake tan it can be slightly tricky to apply to hard to reach places such as my back as I’m an individual with particularly short arms so as you can imagine I definitely need a little helping hand. Once left for 8 hours it leaves the most beautiful natural tan, and I am utterly in love.

Design.ME/Puff.ME light - £17
The Puff.Me hair mist from Design.ME. Okay spoiler alert this is revolutionary. I’d gotten o used to having flat hair due to my hate of hairspray, but then this came along and has literally changed the game for me. The puff.me hair mist is designed to be pumped onto our roots to deliver a hella amount of volume. And It works!

When I was first gifted this by Sparkle PR I was questioning how a little powder would work to give me a volume boost, but as soon as I tried it I was in love. Now I don’t know what the competitor of this is whether it be hairspray or any other product, but it has the magical power of creating volume without leaving your hair feeling sticky and stiff which is the element that just sold it to me.

The Alya Skin ink Clay Mask - £27.99
Now if you have Snapchat you will see that everyone has been raving about the Alya facemask. There have been marketing campaigns being pushed out all over the internet and many people reviewing it. And I was one of the lucky ones that was kindly gifted it. Now I usually don’t get excited over face masks and quite frankly get impatient and bored whilst waiting for them to dry most of the time. But this has definitely changed my mind about them.

This pink clay mask has quite a thick consistency and so you only need a small amount for each application, it smells gorgeous and has a gorgeous little pale pink aesthetic to it.

It’s safe to say that these products have found a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to explore more products from their range.

Simplicity

| This post contains a gifted item |

Simplicity. Sometimes in life, the smaller things make the biggest statements. Such as a handwritten note or simply a smile. These smaller day to day things are the ones that we tend to remember and value the most. So why should your jewellery be any different?

The smaller and more delicate the piece, the bigger the impact. Say hello to the newest edition in my jewellery collection. This gorgeous 18ct Rose Gold disk initial necklace. This piece just speaks for itself. With an elegant, simplistic and minimalist style this necklace can be found at Jewel editions for just £39. With an adjustable chain changing from 16-18 inches this is the perfect necklace for anyone and is something that I have been searching for for a long time.

Customisation is another unique feature, there's just something about simply popping your intitial on a necklace that can change it from simply being another piece to being your piece. The quality is just beautiful, with an outstanding finish and this is already a new favourite of mine.

Which jewellery type are you.. Delicate and dainty, or the bigger the better?

Until next time, Rebeca Elen.

AD | Three ways to style a day dress with Simply Be UK

 AD|this is a paid ad that contains gifted items and affiliate links, but all thoughts and opinions are of my own with no influence from the brand}

I am back again, with another fashion post, and once again featuring Simply Be UK. I previously did a campaign with Simply Be and fell in love with their clothes and their beliefs. Having a curvy figure or in general being bigger than a size 12 can often make it hard to find perfectly fitting clothing. But with Simply Be UK aiming to create inclusive clothing for many sizes it’s become easier to find things that I love. And today I am talking dresses. Day dresses that are simple to dress up and dress down throughout the summer months.

AD | Day to night with Simply Be UK

{ AD | This post includes paid promotion, gifted items and affiliate links. All opinions are of my own with no influence made by the company.}

Over the past three years my body has gone through a hell of a lot of change, from weight loss to weight gain. It's been a journey, not only physically but mentally. When your body changes, so does the way you see yourself. And when that change is drastic it's as if you have to figure out a whole new way to dress yourself. It's taken a little longer than I'd hoped but, I'm getting there. Everyday I'm discovering new reasons to love my curvy figure, from the way my hips fill out a tight fitting dress to the way that I can catch any food that falls in between my thighs (If you know, you know). But its fair to say that fashion has been a challenge.

Impressive nails with imPRESS nails

Now I've never really been one to pamper myself and spend much time on the little things such as nice nails and nice hair, between university and life I've just never felt that I have the money or time to do so. Now they could just be excuses, simply because I've never quite realised just how easy it is to do so. But since I discovered these imPRESS nails things are definitely going to change. A few weeks ago I was kindly gifted three sets of nails by imPress through Alex silver PR, I'm currently onto my second set and I absolutely love them!

Finding beauty in the uncomfortable: London

London, I feel that it's a little bit like Marmite. You either love the buzz, or its a hot overwhelming mess that you cannot wait to get out of. Yep, can you guess which one I am? I must admit I've always struggled with London, the often overcrowded street s have always left me feeling sum-what suffocated. But even though this is always the feeling I am overwhelmed with when I visit, I am always pushing myself to go back.

Canon Zoemini C/S : Launch event #gifted

Here it is, the post I have been dying to write since I first received this event invite around three weeks ago. The canon launch event that is, I am still to this very moment in disbelief of how incredibly fortunate and lucky I am to having been invited to this event as canon and photography have been my forever passion! I was kindly invited up to the EL&N cafe for the launch of the new Zoemini C/S series, and of course I had to bring along Alice as a +1 to share the experience!

Life update: Overcoming self-doubt

Ah 2019. I've had quite an odd start to the year to say the least. I've had highs, I've had lows but a new experience of a feeling of emptiness. Stuck in a slump of self-doubt, questioning my capabilities of what my future holds its fair to say I've had a fair share of a few rough weeks only three months into the year. But this post isn't all about the negatives, but a little update and maybe a few tips of how doing one wild thing a little out of your comfort zone can completely change you perspective and positive energy.

3 ways to tackle 'Dermatophagia'

Now I'm not one to throw a term around, especially medical ones. But today's post is talking Dermatophagia, and if you have absolutely no idea what that means then don't worry as I only discovered about a month or two ago that an actual term existed for something that I've been suffering with for years. Within this post, I'll be talking about what Dermatophagia is and 3 way's I'm approaching tackling this long-term problem. (This post contains the Rejuvenate hand mask gifted by Leighton Denny expert nails)

Soy-fisticated candles

Autumn. The perfect season to end a year before venturing into the next one.. even though its only technically Autumn until the 21st of December, but we'll forget about that one. From what I can see its the season where people begin to get festive, whether that be over Halloween or even the Christmas holidays. You know who you are, those people that get their Christmas lights out when its not even past October yet.. p.s I'm not judging. But from pumpkins to fairy lights, people start to change up their lifestyle and light a whole lot of candles. And that is where the point of today's post comes from. Candles.

The place of stodgy burgers

Hey all, I am finally back with a foodie blog review and I couldn't be more excited! This time its Felsons cocktail lounge and stick hall on Corn street, Bristol. I was offered the kind gift of a meal and drinks for myself and a +1, so without question I dragged my boyfriend along but of course with a private room, the Chelsea football match on tv, a pool table and a meal.. He couldn't even try and complain right?

Accessories, taking you from season to season

We've all been there and done that with getting so over excited with one season that we end up spending 90% of our money on clothing and accessorising, seemingly forgetting about the other three seasons in the year. You're suddenly left with the realisation that your brand new white converse won't last through the winter, and your doc martens will not be the perfect suit for a summer holiday. But that's where accessories come in, you know those wonderful things that you can put on that instantly change any outfit to suit the weather. And a watch, is the most perfect one you may find.

Beauty in the Buzzy bee holiday schedule | EE Jewellery

Ah holidays, don't you wish that they were more than a once or twice a year thing (well unless you have a hell of a lot of money, or a travel blogger.. one day, one day) But in all of the heat you can often find yourself repeating the outfits that are comfier and the lack of make up can become somewhat boring. but that's where I really find that Jewellery can help, something so small can be such a life saver on the aesthetically pleasing photo side of things. Now I am the classic example of someone that doesn't deal with the heat well and therefor does not make an effort whilst I'm away, and so a few stand out jewellery items are essential.

Canon | The lenses you need in your life

Getting a new camera is always a bit of a complicated ordeal, especially when the camera is a large investment and especially when you're switching between brands for the first time. Back in the summer last year I sadly lost my beloved Nikon D5100 to a wave in Rhodes and I was absolutely heartbroken, but I took this as an opportunity to finally make the switch to canon. Now don't get me wrong Nikon was incredible, but whenever I follow photography accounts or just have a look at peoples work in general they'd always seem to have a Canon so I jumped and made the switch, and in fact haven't looked back since.

The boat of dreams | Foozie Rosé & gin cruise

Ah the boat of dreams, I must admit not quite the titanic but if you're a lover of Rosé or Gin then this little boat would come pretty close. I was fortunately invited on a little boat cruise last week in Bristol as part of one of Foozie UK's events, and I couldn't have been more excited about it. It's a little known fact that I am a great lover of boats, now I'm not 'boat spotter' but I get way more excited about heading out on a rustic little boat than most twenty or so year old's.. and when mixed with some beautiful gin drinks it was just a complete dream.
