AD | The perfect non alcoholic night in with Caleño
Now when I was offered the opportunity to try Caleño, I just couldn't pass on the opportunity. Now don't get me wrong I love a bit of alcohol every now and then, but most of the time I'm happy with just a plain old soft drink. But Caleño truly is the perfect answer to jazzing up your non alcoholic Friday night drink.
Now what is Caleño you're probably thinking? Well it's described as a non alcoholic free spirit with notes of Juniper and Inca berry... and spoiler alert, you'll love it. But if you want the full fancy description here it is:
"Caleño's Juniper and Inca Berry is a tropical infusion of juniper, citrus and spice botanicals, steam distilled in stainless steel drums. Beating at its heart is the golden South American Inca berry; Sweet, yet tangy, with pineapple, Mango and citrus fruit flavours. Founded by Ellie inspired by the energetic culture of her Columbian heartland."
When I was sent over this little package it included everything you'd need for the perfect Caleño cocktail night:
- Tote bag
- Gold stirrer
- Cocktail shaker
- Bar blade
- 200m Caleño bottle
- Tonic water
- Cocktail menu
The first thing I definitely noticed was the branding. I'm the kind of person that will buy something that I don't really need, but will simply buy it because it's aesthetically pleasing. And this collection is definitely that. The tote bag, the bar blade and bottle are created with such attention to detail and to a really lovely quality finish. They've really hit the nail on the head with really showing off those Colombian vibes, and I am quite honestly obsessed.
Before I go into detail I just wanted to quickly mention where you can grab this for yourselves. It comes in at £24 per bottle (70cl) and you can find it here directly on the Caleño website, and you'll find it stocked on Amazon, or at your local Sainsbury's.
Second of all the taste, now I won't be able to convince you fully until you try it for yourselves, but if you are looking for a little substitute for alcohol then this is the one. Sugar free, Sweetener free and no artificial flavours. It has a really beautiful light taste, and will definitely get you hooked on wanting more.
There are many cocktails that you can create with this spirit, including those within the Caleño cocktail menu, but the classic Caleño & Tonic is as simple as it sounds. Fill your glass with plenty of ice, add a double shot of Caleño, add 20ml of tonic water and if you're feeling extra fancy garnish with an Inca berry. And there you go, a really simple friday night drink, or a week day of course who cares when its alcohol free!
A foodies dream | The cosy club
The cosy club. A food and cocktail lover’s dream. I must
admit before this trip I’d only visited the cosy club once and I could only
remember my experience very vaguely, so to have a meal set up for me by the
cosy club themselves was extremely exciting, and I just couldn’t wait to see what
the new menus were about! Now due to me always being early for everything in my life,
myself and my love were sat down a little earlier in the most elegant but cosy
corner of the restaurant (a very fitting description). After taking a few
little snaps of all the luxurious glasses and table set ups we were soon
introduced to our lovely waitress for the night that was Olivia.
Brunching at Beets'N Roots
Now this is a post that is well overdue, the post where I chat about my little blogger brunch experience at the Beets'N Roots cafe in Bristol! I must admit I'm not too into experimental foods, and experimental to me being foods with more than two or three flavours. You could say that I'm a simplistic eater, so whilst I was crazily excited to try out a new food venue I was also a little cautious about it too. So many worries about what if I dont like anything? What if its not for me? But I must be honest I had thoroughly enjoyed my little treat of a lunch (that I am ever so grateful for).
The Cuban - #bloggerevent
The Cuban blogger event. I must admit I'm still not entirely sure as to what the intention of this blogging event was, whether it be relaunch of their menu or to just share good food, one thing I do know is that it was a night in collaboration with the app Socialight - long story short this app was created to connect businesses with influencers and vise versa! But either way I was excited, having never been to The Cuban before I was very curious to see what good food they sold and what it was all about! And that is what I did..
